Celtic & Co and Frugi achieve B Corp Certification
18/06/2025
Two UKFT members, Celtic & Co and Frugi, are now Certified B Corporations, joining a global community of businesses committed to high standards of social and environmental responsibility. Fellow members include ACS Clothing, Alex Begg, Johnstons of Elgin, Scamp & Dude, Seasalt and more.
Frugi – known for its vibrant, planet-conscious childrenswear – achieved an impressive score of 90.9 in the B Impact Assessment. This certification recognises Frugi’s longstanding commitment to ethical supply chains, circular design, and sustainable production, including the use of certified organic cotton and GOTS-made garments. Frugi is the first UK-based children’s clothing brand using GOTS-certified fabrics to become a B Corp.
“We’re over the moon (and rainbow!) to be officially certified as a B Corp”, said Frugi Product and Brand Director, Jennifer Bolton. “We’ve always believed that doing good and doing business should go hand in hand – it’s a way of building the future we want to see for our children. This commitment isn’t new to us – it’s been at our core from the start. Being B Corp certified is a celebration of everything we stand for and confirms our mission to do business better!”
Frugi is also a finalist at the Soil Association boom awards.
Celtic & Co, leaders in slow fashion and British-made natural fibre clothing, achieved certification with a score of 87.9. Based in Newquay, the company champions British Wool, offers repair and resole services through Celtic Relived, and is expanding its use of recycled materials across its range.
“As leaders of the slow fashion movement from the very beginning with our dedication to high quality, timeless style, it’s great to have our commitment to the planet and our people recognised through this internationally renowned certification,” added Marta Przybyl, Sustainability Manager. “Well done to the whole team for all the hard work they put into achieving this accolade.”
Both brands are part of Refined Brands, a group of purpose-led fashion companies including Turtle Doves and Kettlewell, united by shared values and a focus on responsible manufacturing and design.
Other UKFT members which have also gained BCorp Certification include ACS Clothing, Alex Begg, Johnstons of Elgin, Scamp & Dude, Seasalt, TBCo, Black & Beech and more.
