06/03/2024
The CapitB Trust was delighted to support the Textile Centre of Excellence’s annual presentation ceremony in Huddersfield on 23 February 2024, which recognises the talent and dedication of learners in the UK textile industry.
The event held at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield brought together more than 200 guests from throughout the UK textile supply chain, from businesses producing materials for fashion through to aerospace and automotive applications.
Adam Mansell, in his role as Chairman of the CapitB Trust, took to the stage to underscore the importance of skill development and training initiatives within the textile industry. In his address, he highlighted the textile sector’s diversity and stressed the need for specialised training programmes tailored to diverse industry needs.
“The UK fashion and textile industry is huge,” said Adam, citing its £62bn contribution to GDP and support for 1.3 million jobs nationwide. He underlined the critical shortage of individuals with expertise in operating state-of-the-art machinery and craftsmanship essential for a wide range of manufacturing processes.
