British Textile Week 2021: Liberty Fabrics
09/09/2021
Liberty Fabrics has been at the cutting-edge of design & decorative arts since 1875 and now forms an international wholesale business, working with retailers, brands and designers across womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and homewares. Designed by an in-house team in the heart of London, printing takes place at the firm’s mill in northern Italy, which uses both innovative digital technology and age-old techniques. From signature, obsessively fine-tuned Tana Lawn cotton and luxurious silk to lightweight linen, Liberty Fabrics are brilliant canvases for bespoke creations of all kinds.
For Autumn Winter 2022, The House of Liberty collection celebrates the key creative principles of founder Arthur’s philosophy – informed by a 145-year history of era-defining art and design, reimagined and reinvented across the decades.
The collection is structured around six key pillars, each representing a ground-breaking moment in Liberty’s design history – Arts and Crafts, Stile Liberty, Nostalgic Florals, Eastern Bazaar, The Tree of Life and Aesthetic Feather. Each heritage style has been revived in bold and unexpected new iterations for AW22.
