Ava Innes: Reimagining luxury bedding with Scottish-made sustainable textile innovation
21/06/2022
Scottish luxury brand Ava Innes, based in the Scottish Highlands region, has developed a new patented range of sustainable cashmere duvets and wool pillows, made in Scotland and Yorkshire.
Joan Johnston, the founder of Ava Innes, spent two years developing this new type of natural insulating fabric using Cashmere Guard Hair, a by-product which has been ignored by the traditional textile industry. The sustainable insulating fill is at the heart of Ava Innes’ sleep system of luxury bedding products, which includes Scottish wool pillows, cashmere throws and blankets, cashmere bed socks and relaxing gift sets. Joan Johnston holds the Patent for this innovative sustainable development.
Joan Johnston of Ava Innes said: “I am thrilled to have been awarded the Patent for our natural insulating fill. It’s a wonderful product – natural, sustainable and due to its temperature-regulating qualities gives a great night’s sleep. We receive regular 5 star reviews, as customers find both they and their partners are sleeping better.”
“I have a background in British luxury textiles, and a passion for UK-made sustainable premium products. I am proud that we make all our products in the UK, helping to support jobs within the textile industry here. “
“Cashmere Guard Hair is the perfect filling for duvets – warm, breathable and offers a naturally weighted comfort. Encased in organic cotton our customers love the luxurious quality and tell us they sleep better under an Ava Innes duvet. It also makes the ideal luxury filling for outerwear and has been tested by an extreme adventurer in Antarctica.”
Ava Innes products are produced using natural materials and manufactured in Scotland and Yorkshire. Ava Innes partners with small independent makers. They have a range of Luxury Sustainable Duvets filled with Cashmere Guard Hair and British wool, as well as Scottish Wool Pillows, Cashmere Accessories & Restful Gifts.
