UKFT is delighted to announce the opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking pilot project in the realm of distributed manufacturing, empowered by cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology as part of the Circular Fashion Innovation Network.

About the Project

This pilot aims to transform the UK’s apparel manufacturing industry by implementing innovative AI manufacturing technologies, connecting manufacturers with fashion retailers and accommodating small-batch, agile, Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing to encourage reshoring of fashion production to the UK.

By creating a ‘Distributed Manufacturing Network’ of connected manufacturers using ‘Manny’ an AI-powered production planning software, developed by Pattern Project, a UK based tech-startup, manufacturers will have access to a connected network providing consistent production orders, standardised workflows and orderly replenishment cycles.

The timeline of the project is from May to September 2024.

 This pilot targets large UK retailers and brands that currently produce the majority of their volume apparel products overseas, but retail within the UK.
