UK Fashion – Routes to Market into Japan
Japan Virtual Round Table, Friday 15th May 2020 starting at 11am – for UK fashion and textile businesses
This event is free of charge during the Covid19 lockdown but numbers are limited.
UKFT is now bringing you its popular Japanese Market Roundtable event in a virtual format on Zoom on Friday 15th May, starting at 11am.
Japan is the UK’s third most important export market for fashion, textiles, accessories and footwear and is an especially important market for products designed and/or manufactured in the UK. The Japanese love British brands and products. The Virtual Roundtable will be chaired by UKFT’s international business director, Paul Alger. Paul will be joined by a number of key industry figures including Richard Craig of Margaret Howell who has also worked with high profile British brands including Henry Poole and Nigel Cabourn in Japan, Kae Miyazawa of the British Embassy Tokyo, Jim Pickles of DIT London and Katsu Nakubo of Marubeni Europe. We also hope to be joined by Nicole Bargwanna who has introduced a number of UK brands into Japan, as well as representatives of Itochu and Joor, Japan’s most important digital online B2B platform. UKFT is also planning a separate presentation on Joor at a later date as part of its online platform programme.
The panel know and understand the Japanese market very well and have been involved with it over many years. All of them have worked with UKFT before and have their own unique experience of how UK exporters can succeed in this market. The panel will look at routes to market for UK companies into Japan and discuss how the market may change in response to the Covid19 outbreak.
A link to the virtual round table will be sent to you once registered.
