UKFT is pleased to launch a Scotland-wide consultation review of the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Textile Care Services at SCQF Level 5. This activity follows on from the successful UK wide review of the National Occupational Suite for the industry published mid-2023.

This qualification has been recently reviewed by industry stakeholders via the UKFT-led Scottish Textile Care Steering Group and has been updated the pathway structures to reflect industry need for Laundry Operations, Dry Cleaning Operations and Wet Cleaning Operations. Please ensure you read through each link attached to the documents below BEFORE completing the survey: 

• Proposed structure of the revised SVQ
• New National Occupational Standard suite for Sustainability in Fashion & Textiles Manufacturing.
• Unit comparison of Form-finish and inspect textile items using steam and/or air > Press and finish textile items following laundry

This short consultation again seeks the views of the industry in Scotland to once again review the coverage and structure of the qualification to ensure it is fit for purpose. Within the survey, we also seek your views on any barriers that prevent the access of this vital training.
