The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) is accompanying around 40 UK menswear and textile companies to Chicago Collective, a national menswear show in North America, from 3-6 August 2024, with the support of the Department for Business and Trade (DBT).

Chicago Collective is currently the most important US trade show for classic and contemporary menswear collections.

Johnstons of Elgin at Chicago Collective, August 24

The majority of the collections are regulars at the show, with Barbour, Belstaff, Bennett Winch, Chrysalis, Derek Rose, Far Afield, Fox Umbrellas, Harley of Scotland, John Smedley, Johnstons of Elgin, Pantherella, Peregrine, Seaward and Stearn, Tateossian, all firm favourites at the show. Many of the brands are actually manufactured in the UK and this is a substantial part of their appeal for US buyers. While many of these brands have also shown at Pitti Uomo and some at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the UK brands travel to the Chicago Collective as it remains the main order writing show for the category in the US and Canada, attracting discerning independent store buyers and some larger store groups from coast to coast.

As ever, the UK’s expertise in outerwear is well represented by brands including Barbour, Belstaff, Chrysalis England and Harris Wharf. Knitwear is also a particular speciality, showcased by labels such as Corgi Hosiery & Knitwear, Alan Paine, Harley of Scotland, John Smedley, Johnstons of Elgin, Peregrine, Sunspel and Scott & Charters.

Tailoring can be seen from Douglas Hayward, while lifestyle ranges can be explored from UK brands ranging from Far Afield to Seaward & Stearn and 1 Like No Other.

Serviceworks will be showing its collection of sanforised workwear originally developed for the kitchen but now available for all.

For nightwear, intimate apparel and swim, buyers can view the ranges from Bonsoir of London, Derek Rose London and Orlebar Brown.

Tricker’s at Chicago Collective, August 24

This is also an important show for footwear brands with Crockett and Jones, Harry’s London, Loake, Sanders and Sanders and Tricker’s all showing this season.

Accessories range from Fox Umbrellas through to bags and luggage from Bennett Winch, cashmere scarves from Joshua Ellis, premium socks from Pantherella, alongside jewellery from Codis Maya, Tateossian London and Thompson London. St James of London will also be presenting its range of all natural skincare and grooming products.

This season the UK’s textile offer includes Holland & Sherry and Scabal, as well as Huddersfield Fine Worsteds showing on the Gladson NYC booth. Harrisons of Edinburgh will also show at this edition.
