Launched in 2020 by founders Jolene Crawford and Mil Stricevic, UKFT member Irregular Sleep Pattern is an independent brand of bedding and sleepwear designed at the intersection of art and utility, based in Glasgow, Scotland. The care which goes into the design and build quality of Irregular Sleep Pattern results in garments which are not only beautiful to sleep in but are equally suited for 24/7 fabulousness.
ZERO WASTE Collaboration with DCM Garments:
Created from a shared passion for responsible design, and a desire to create something beautiful from the pieces commonly left behind, Irregular Sleep Pattern collaborated with DCM Garments. The ZERO WASTE collaboration celebrates the colour test sample pieces, printed at UKFT member CAT Digital in Glasgow School of Art, from Irregular Sleep Pattern’s latest collection. With a custom silhouette inspired by vintage workwear, each piece is structured and roomy with a boxy fit and tapered waist. This was greatly anticipated on Instagram and the capsule sold out in 30 minutes!
Mil Stricevic, Irregular Sleep Pattern Creative Director says, “As a designer, I think the most rewarding collaborations are the ones where the outcome is greater than the sum of the parts: the potential of this idea was clear in my mind, but Devin brought it to life in a way that exceeded my expectations. We love the idea of allowing people to ‘play’ in our irregular world, and hope it will be the first of many such creative partnerships”
Joe Lycett Collaboration:
Comedian / activist Joe Lycett, already the owner of six different colour-ways of Irregular Sleep Pattern’s classic suit, approached Irregular Sleep Pattern to create a custom suit featuring his own inimitable artwork, to be worn on the finale of the second series of his live Channel 4 show Late Night Lycett. Joe’s artwork was laid out by Mil, Irregular Sleep Pattern’s Creative Director, printed at CAT Digital on a fabric that has a canvas like quality so it appears that Joe has painted straight onto the suit, and then tailored in Glasgow by Studio Utzka.
Mil Stricevic, Irregular Sleep Pattern Creative Director says, “In developing the signature cut of our classic pyjama suit – lightly tailored with a nod to workwear – we always envisaged it not only as a great blank canvas for our own bold, outsized designs, but also for potential collaborations. Making this bespoke suit for Joe was a very fun opportunity to create something special for a human whose work we really admire. I had a lot of fun laying out his illustrations in a way which really celebrates their idiosyncratic characteristic. Prawns on your collar?… highly irregular!”
