UKFT has published a new guide for members on the EU deforestation and forest degradation regulation (EU) 2023/1115.

This new law aims to minimise the EU’s contribution to deforestation and forest degradation worldwide by ensuring that goods produced on deforested or degraded land anywhere in the world are no longer sold within the European Union.

Fashion and textile products are not covered directly, however, the regulation does apply to animal hides, wooden items such as clothes hangers and umbrella handles as well as packaging materials.
