UKFT Member Carrington Textiles Launches New Military Ripstop Fabric

UKFT Member Carrington Textiles is a global manufacturer that specialises in workwear, flame retardant, waterproof, sustainable and defence fabrics. With several production facilities located across the world, from the UK to Portugal and Pakistan, Carrington Textiles produces over 130 million metres of fabric per year. Carrington Fabrics is well-known in the military sector as its fabrics are worn by armed forces across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. The manufacturer recently launched a new military fabric as part of its Defence Range: Spartan HT Flex Lite. This fabric was created in response to the market’s demand for durable and comfortable army uniforms.
Spartan HT Flex Lite is a ripstop fabric that combines 37% cotton for comfort and 2% LYCRA® for stretch. To increase its strength and durability, it also includes 61% of CORDURA® military grade high tenacity nylon. This lightweight fabric can be suitable for combat uniforms in a wide variety of regions and can feature bespoke prints.

“We are seeing a growing trend for wearer comfort; this has transitioned from workwear to flame retardant, so it’s only natural that we see this transition into the defence sector. We wanted to develop a product that protects the wearer in the most challenging environments but at the same time is comfortable to wear”.
