UKFT x FTCT Partnership and Takeover Week | 20-26 March 2023
20/03/2023
The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT). As the only organisation dedicated to supporting children from fashion and textile families in the UK, the FTCT helps parents who are facing financial hardship and may find themselves unable to afford essential items for their children.
UKFT, the largest British fashion and textile network, has actively supported the FTCT since 2010. In 2023, UKFT has strengthened its support by naming the FTCT as their chosen charity and by making a £1,000 donation. Adam Mansell, UKFT CEO, said:
“FTCT are a fantastic charity. They do amazing work with people in the fashion and textile sector. As life gets harder for some, we are proud to partner with FTCT to help the children of those who have been part of our industry.”
Over the past five years, the FTCT has supported 3,640 children and given £1.85 million in grants to families facing financial crisis, to help buy children’s clothes, school uniforms, bedroom furniture and study equipment. In addition, the FTCT has provided specialist support including therapies, sensory toys and mobility equipment.
The FTCT will take over UKFT’s social media channels for a week from the 20th of March 2023. This social media campaign will promote the FTCT’s work to a broader audience. The FTCT takeover will include a series of social media posts covering key data, case studies and fundraising ideas for companies. On the 5th of April, Anna Pangbourne, CEO of the FTCT, will lead a free webinar on how to promote financial wellness in the workplace.
“Without the support of UKFT we wouldn’t have the opportunity to reach out to so many different companies across the sector. Through UKFT, we can be brought to the door of the employers right across the industry. From weavers, dyers, tailors, cutters to pattern makers, we are here for the industry. So many families right across the sector are struggling financially and it is important for them to know that there is this unique charity that’s there solely to support them,” said Anna Pangbourne.
