Leathersmith of London: Extending its proud heritage into accessories and beyond
13/06/2022
UK exhibitor Leathersmith of London has built on its longstanding expertise of producing quality leatherbound books to create a new bag and small leather goods collection that is on show at the June 2022 edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence.
T.J. & J. Smith was established in London in 1839 and began producing high quality leatherbound books and other leather products under the brand name “Leathersmith of London”.
In 1928 the company introduced the Azure series of diaries, address, and social books, featuring distinctive English azure blue paper, gilt edges and soft finished cross-grained Rutland leather.
Made in the UK using traditional British skills, craftsmanship and materials, this range of products earned the company a worldwide reputation for quality.
This fine tradition continues today in our latest Leathersmith of London range of diaries, journals, notebooks, stationery and business accessories and gifts.
All the company’s leather diaries and journals continue to be hand bound at its bindery on Canvey Island, Essex. Leathersmith of London brings together the finest quality materials, traditional British craftsmanship and expert attention to detail to create journals, diaries, leather goods and accessories which their owners can enjoy and treasure for years to come.
Naturally, its care extends to the environment, and all paper comes from sustainable forest sources.
The Lion print canvas backpack, messenger bag and small shoulder bag, are now available in plain grained leather along with a selection of small leather goods to complement its existing notebooks and diaries.
For the first time Leathersmith of London is putting its lion emblem front and centre. Printed and embroidered on the range for 2022, the Leathersmith Lion is the perfect personification of the true Britishness of the brand, and is available on a range of bags, t-shirts and small leather goods.
It is paving the way for future menswear collections through and beyond 2023/2024.
