UKFT Rise subscriber Boy Wonder has donated samples and fabric remnants to the charity Dressability to be transformed into adapted clothing for people with disabilities and reusable sanitary pads.

Ismay Mummery, founder and managing director of sustainable boy’s fashion brand Boy Wonder, responded to UKFT’s call asking for sample clothing or spare fabrics for Dressability. Read more here.

Chloe Ayres, sewing co-ordinator at Dressability, said: “We were able to use the fun and colourful jersey fabric to make reusable sanitary pads as part of a project with charity ATE (Action Through Enterprise), the project aims to help end period poverty by supplying schools in Ghana with over 300 reusable sanitary pads.

“The jumper sample has been adapted with a Velcro back for ease of dressing, and a slot for a feeding tube, the eye-catching jumper will be used to demonstrate our alterations capabilities.”

Ismay said: “I love what you have done with the sweatshirt and the sanitary pads look great! It’s great to see it all being out to such good use.”
