Meet Frankie Davies (45), founder of Charl Knitwear – a stunning collection of limited edition, British and Italian made, sustainable and traceable knitwear. It is inspired by archival pieces from Norfolk fishermen and given an exciting and modern interpretation.

Prior to launching in 2019, Frankie had built 20 years of experience in designing knitwear for top luxury brands and smaller independent labels. She also worked for seven years at heritage brand Burberry, collaborating with knitters and working with experts in pricing, production, factory sourcing and more.

Charl Knitwear collections use organic, traceable and naturally dyed cashmere, rare breed traceable British wool and un-dyed baby alpaca yarn all knitted and expertly produced at carefully selected factories in London and Perugia (Italy).

Carefully considered at every step and never rushed, the collections, Frankie likes to say, ‘are not ready, until they are ready’. This is fashion at a slower pace, a kinder pace to the environment.  And for the customer, it means that each piece and each detail is of the highest quality, ready to last and be loved for more than one lifetime.
