Increased Funding of Job Support Scheme
The government have announced a significant expansion to the new Job Support Scheme that starts on 1st November.
- Minimum Hours to be worked falls from 33% to 20%, so those working 1 day a week will be eligible
- Employer contributions to the cost of unworked hours falls to 5%
- Government contribution to unworked hours increases to 61.67%, up to a cap of £1,541.75 a month

Self-employed grant
The government have also announced an increase in the funding for the Self-Employed Grants Scheme. From 1st November the grants will be increased to 40% of profits up to a maximum of £3,750
Business Grants
The Government has also increased grants for business, although these are primarily aimed at businesses in the hospitality sector and will be administered by Local Authorities.
