The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) is calling on individuals from the British fashion and textiles industry to seize the opportunity to run in the 2027 TCS London Marathon – one of the world’s most iconic sporting events.

With only one place available, the Trust is looking for a runner with a connection to the sector, and a passion for supporting the trust’s work. This is a rare opportunity to represent your industry, push your personal limits, and make a real difference to families across the UK.

The selected runner will be asked to raise a minimum of £3,000 for the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust, which funds essential grants for industry families facing challenging times. Employer match funding is warmly welcomed and can count towards the fundraising total, making this an opportunity to engage your workplace in a meaningful cause.

The FTCT has been supporting parents and carers in the British fashion and textile  industry for over 170 years, covering the cost of essentials for their children. Grants do not need to be repaid and are typically awarded within four weeks. Financial difficulties can affect anyone and by taking on the marathon, you will be helping to ensure no family in the industry is left behind.

Places are hard to get, so it’s a real privilege to have be able to offer this opportunity.  Whether you’re a seasoned runner or taking on your first 26.2 miles, if you have a passion for this sector and a desire to give back, we want to hear from you.”

How to Express Your Interest

Expressions of interest are open now and will close on 15 September 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief informal conversation with the Trust before the successful runner is selected by 30^thSeptember.
