Member spotlight: Humphries Weaving receives a Royal Warrant

Humphries Weaving has received a Royal Warrant by appointment to His Majesty the King as manufacturer of Walling Silk and Furnishing Fabrics. It is the first time Humphries Weaving have been issued a Royal Warrant by the British Royal Family.

A Royal Warrant of Appointment is granted as a mark of recognition to companies who have regularly supplied goods or services direct to the Royal Household. Humphries Weaving appointment as Manufacturer of Walling Silk and Furnishing Fabrics recognises our commitment to craftmanship, quality and sustainability. This follows the King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, which was awarded in 2025.
Humphries Weaving designs and manufactures bespoke luxury fabrics from its Sudbury Silk Mills, Suffolk base, uniting centuries of British textile heritage with contemporary expertise. Renowned for the meticulous recreation of historic textiles and refined custom design, its fabrics enrich distinguished interiors worldwide.

Humphries Weaving combines traditional craftsmanship with specialist textile knowledge to create exceptional bespoke fabrics. From the accurate recreation of historic textiles to the development of original contemporary designs, each project is informed by detailed research, hand-drawn artistry and expert weaving techniques including satin, damask and brocatelle.
Working with heritage organisations, museums, architects and private clients, the company offers a complete service encompassing consultancy, colour development and technical design. Its on-site dye works enable precise colour matching, while its extensive archive supports historically accurate results. From restoration to new creation, Humphries Weaving guides clients from concept to completion with precision, discretion and care.

Sudbury Silk Mills, based in Sudbury, Suffolk, is a family-run weaving mill with a heritage of over 300 years in jacquard silk weaving. The mill produces fabrics for Stephen Walters, David Walters and Humphries Weaving, employing more than 100 people. Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, the companies operate over 40 looms to create custom-woven fabrics for luxury fashion houses and interiors.
